StarPoint Properties is a Los Angeles based real estate investment firm specializing in asymmetrical risk-return profiles. With over 25 years of experience and an agile investment team, StarPoint is uniquely positioned to identify opportune markets and submarkets, unlock asset value, and boost returns.

Darien Group engaged with StarPoint in 2021, tasked with driving a rebrand of the firm’s visual brand, website, and messaging. The end result is a cohesive brand which not only conveys the strength of their platform but also their creative ethos.

THE CHALLENGE:
Create a consistent and dynamic visual identity which conveys the exceptionalism of StarPoint’s results and expertise, and highlights their creativity & analytical capabilities.

THE APPROACH:
Darien Group began the visual brand development process with a rangefinding session, aiming to deeply understand the brand aspirations and aesthetic preferences. It was evident that the visual identity would need to be structured but not rigid, and modern but engaging.

Along with a color palette of rich blues and vibrant yellows, the visual brand includes a formidable font, stark contrasts, and bold lines.

THE RESULT:
The final visual brand seamlessly integrates photographs of StarPoint’s impressive properties with graphical elements connecting the firm’s creativity with their results and analytical mindset.

MESSAGING / TAGLINE EXPLORATION:

Develop a messaging strategy which accurately captures the firm’s complex differentiators in an easily digestible way.

THE APPROACH:
Darien Group conducted a series of discovery interviews with firm stakeholders including StarPoint CEO Paul Daneshrad, and in doing so identified key thematic highlights to expand upon in the messaging strategy.

Simultaneously, Darien Group guided StarPoint through a tagline exploration meant to distill the most salient differentiators into one phrase.

THE RESULT:
The end result is a cogent messaging strategy anchored by a tagline: Decades of Delivering Asymmetrical Returns. This strong and balanced tagline touches upon several of StarPoint’s unique qualities while being succinct enough to appear across the website and collateral.
