Charlie Ray

Born and raised in Fort Worth, TX, Charlie moved to New York City at age 17, where he fell in love with the hustle and energy of the city. After earning his Bachelors of Music from Baldwin Wallace University in Cleveland, OH, he returned to New York City to start his career. Since then, work and life have brought him back and forth between NYC and Miami, FL.

Charlie began his career in private equity marketing, serving as an agency partner to private equity and investment management clients providing content marketing capabilities, brand strategy, production, and more. In these roles, he developed a passion for bringing asset managers into the new age where brand, identity, and positioning are critical to sourcing deals, raising funds, and maintaining relationships needed to scale a firm. He also spent several years marketing for global spirits brands, with an emphasis on advertising, brand marketing, performance media, and eCommerce. His work included leading large-scale digital ecosystem overhauls, global visual identity refreshes, and talent-backed production for these clients.

Thrilled to continue his work in private equity marketing, Charlie joined Darien Group as Director of Accounts in 2025. In this role, he is committed to delivering excellent work and client experience alongside a growing account team based in New York City. 

Charlie currently lives on the Upper West Side with his wife, Caroline, and his American Foxhound, Hugo. He is a WSET Level 2 certified wine scholar and enjoys learning useless facts about wine in his spare time, as well as leading tastings for friends, family, and colleagues. Charlie is an avid tennis fan (both spectating and playing) and is on a mission with his wife to visit all men's and women's professional tennis tournaments level 1000 and above by 2030.
